our approach

we serve and support our students, families, educators and community

Through a diverse range of curriculum and enrichment activities, your child’s day is engaging, stimulating and constantly evolving with the monthly, weekly and daily themes.

Our trained educators are encouraged to be creative and imaginative in their lesson planning. Lesson plans are age appropriate and edited per student’s interests and abilities. There is no one size fits all with our little ones!

our philosophy

“play is the work of childhood” – jean piaget

At Community Preschool of Huntersville, we believe in getting back to the basics – students are safe, happy, nurtured, and inspired. When you walk the halls, you will hear laughter, curiosity, and happy children learning through play. Our educators truly want to teach and be part of a positive team atmosphere that creates a lively and engaging class setting for every age group. This is who we are at CPH.

our community

community is the foundation of our program

We work together with Community Partners through our Enrichment Programs to serve students and support families and educators.  Community fosters a sense of belonging and acceptance for young children.  Community events and activities give our students opportunities to build skills, follow interests and “give back” to the community.  Leadership starts here!

  • fresh & nutritious

Our professionally designed kitchen and culinary trained chef prepares fresh and nutritious meals daily. In keeping with our commitment to sustainability, we provide community garden space along with compost centers, recycling, and rainwater collection receptacles.

  • outdoor play

Our outdoor play and garden spaces are an extension of the indoor educational environments. Outdoor play spaces include dramatic play, gross motor, art and music, sand and water, along with natural elements such as a reflexology path to elevate your child’s outdoor educational journey.

  • tactile play

Special indoor play spaces include a large sensory tactile play room dedicated to our Nursery students. This space supports gross motor and sensory skills for critical development for children under 2 years old.

For our older students, we offer an atrium/computer space. This environment allows for large group computer lessons, STEAM education, and additional rainy-day play space.

At Community Preschool of Huntersville, we take pride in our unique approach to modern childcare and education.

our educational methods

  • our community and sustainability

our classroom environments

classroom environments inspire curiosity and positive social interactions

At Community Preschool of Huntersville, we provide bright, cheerful, calm classrooms for every age and stage. Our classrooms are large and spacious and designed to inspire students to explore and create.

The CPH Approach includes our commitment to offering additional learning opportunities with our supplemental class spaces to include the Sensory/Tactile room for the Nursery students and the Atrium/Computer space for our PreSchoolers.

our developmental programs

we serve each age and stage with intention and purpose

Our Educators receive the support of a full time Educational and Program Director to assist with developmentally appropriate and creative lesson planning. Students explore a progression based education that encourages independence and fosters critical thinking. A variety of learning environments are intentionally designed for every class space that is supported by the Early Years Learning educational philosophy.
